Meet Stephen & Michele

Stephen and Michele met in 2000 while working in the historic Atlanta University Center located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Over time they have established a strong relationship built upon trust and mutual respect. As a couple they enjoy going to the movies and spending time with their friends and family.

Stephen is a thirty-one year old native Philadelphian who moved to Georgia with his family in 1988. He is an avid sports fan and his favorite team is the Sixers. Two pastimes that he enjoys are vacationing on cruise lines and short weekend get-a-ways. He is the father of one son, Breon who is eight years old. When Stephen and Breon spend time together they enjoy going to the movies, playing sports and going to Six Flags Over Georgia.

Stephen recently realized a life-long dream of owning his own business with the launching of Stephen's Treats focused in the mobile ice cream industry. When asked what his one gift could be to his unborn child he responded, "The gift of entrepreneurship is one that I would like to leave to all my children. You can achieve anything that you dream as long as you are willing to work smart and hard."

Michele is a twenty-nine year old native Californian who relocated with her family to Georgia at the age of six. Consequently, she considers herself a Georgia "peach" also. Michele has one five-year old daughter, Jada. Jada and Michele enjoy painting their nails, going to the movies and swimming together. One of Michele's fondest memories of Jada was her first day at nursery. Jada was two years old and she burst into the classroom saying, "I'M HERE!" It was then confirmed that Jada is definitely a special child.

Michele also realized a life-long dream when she graduated Cum Laude from Georgia State University in May 2003 with a bachelor of science in Urban Policy Studies and intends to pursue her master's in public administration in 2008. Michele's long-term goal is to establish a non-profit agency focused on empowering individuals through knowledge regarding the impact of public policy on their lives.

Stephen, Michele, Breon and Jada are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their new "peach."

Meet Breon,
Breon is a third grader whose most challenging subject in school is math because he enjoys working division problems. When he is not in school, Breon enjoys reading books. The book that he enjoys reading the most is Martin's Big Words, by Doreen Rappaport. In the book Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. says a lot of good things and he tells Black and White people about the power of love and hate. Breon thinks this is important because we all need to get along.

When Breon learned that his father was expecting a new baby he knew that he wanted a baby brother. Having a baby brother would be fun and they could play together. The first thing that Breon wants to do with his new baby brother is to hold and feed him.

Meet Jada,
Jada is five years old and began kindergarten this year. She enjoys riding to school on the bus, learning, and playing with her friends. The color that she likes the most is pink because she likes the pink Power Ranger and her bedroom is decorated in pink Barbie.

Swimming is one of Jada's favorite activities. What she likes most about swimming is getting wet in the water and playing with her friends and swim teacher. Before she gets in the pool, Jada always says a prayer to God (who is the person that she wants to be like). Jada likes to go to church because church is where she learns about the love of God and how she should act.

Jada wants her new "'peach" to be a baby sister. She was very excited when her mother told her that a new baby was on the way because she had been asking for a baby sister for a long time. Jada thinks that a baby sister will be more fun than a brother because they can team up on their brother.
